Default Spark Plug questions????

I changed my Plugs on my 00 with 24K miles. Found that 2 of the platinum disks were missing. What will those disks do if they are missing? My 00 also burns a bit of oil. The gap on all the stock plugs was right on at .060. The passenger side spark plugs were darker than the driver side. There was one on the passnenger side plug that was basically tan as most all the rest of the plugs were pinkish white. Do I have a problem on that one cylinder that is tan??? Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, most of us that pulled our stock plugs found that the platinum pucks were gone on all the plugs. I imagine they just burn up into carbon??? No issues from anyone I know of so I would not worry about it. As far as the color of the plugs, that's a question for the mechanic's and they would probably need to take a look at the plugs.

A number of forum members have reported that the pucks on the plugs have been missing when they check them. Apparently they haven't damaged anything. Put a set of NGK TR55s in there. As far as the oil consumption, how much is it using? My '00 got to the point where it was using 1 quart every 1200 miles. Had the rings replaced under warranty and that problem was solved.

Tan is the color you want... Go with +4's and a hot wire and you will be fine...
