I read all the search hits for "gap" and didn't find a definitive answer.
I am putting in NGK TR55IX irridium plugs in my 2001 today. They came gapped at .055. The service manual recommends .060 gapping in stock irridiums. I've read varying recommended gaps and don't know what to do. Should I try to re-gap to something different or just put them in as they are (.055). If I need to re-gap, how do I do it without damaging the plug?
I replaced mine with Iridium Delco's. There was a huge caution NOT to change the gap or it will damage the plug. I'm guessing the NGK's probably have a similar warning. I wouldn't mess with it, you're holding about $50 bucks in your hand
aren't tr55's good enuf? is there any worth to the iridium's, i would prefer changing the plugs every 10k or so, that way it's cheap insurance for the threads in the heads IMHO

If you want to change the plugs every 10k miles, TR55 would be your best plug from what I've read.
