Default Overheating?

Our '03 Anniversary Edition overheated on a very short trip (under two miles) after being driven over 100 miles earlier in the day. The warning light and the DIC indicated the car was overheating and it tried to stall out. We let it cool off overnight and the next morning it took less than a couple of quarts of coolant to fill the reservoir and ran fine. No oveheating, no check engine light.....everything was OK. Taking it to dealer under warranty but wondered if this had happened to anyone else. The car has 35,000 miles and is a daily driver. Ran fine all the next day (today). Sounds almost like a stuck thermostat that got un-stuck!

I have a 98 with 98k on it. One day is got hot all of a sudden. After lots of cleaning and checking I replaced the thermostat. Did the trick. It's running cool again and in Arizona that's a feat. It very easy and cheap. Good luck..................BJ98
