Default First "mods" ever

Well, not exactly Mods, but some cool stuff...

1.) a set of all rubber floor mats... I hate worrying about stepping in water or other crap and then transfering that to my carpets..

http://www.pfyc.com/store/merchant.m...ory_Code=VTINT

2.) CAGS defeat... I hope I bought the right thing... from same store, figured I'd save the cost of shipping prices twice

http://www.pfyc.com/store/merchant.m...ct_Code=VT6001

3.) Simple hood seal, from same vendor... don't know if it helps with power, but I plan on getting open air filter soon, and want to keep it dry and clean... figured this would help, if not, only 12 bux...

http://www.pfyc.com/store/merchant.m...ct_Code=VT3008

Total cost with shipping $97 bones.... I hate CAGS, some I guess may like it, but I don't want GM telling me when I should shift... hood seal.. I have heard things both ways.. its still functional, it seals the hood a bit... if nothing else, keeps the goop out

Its the first of many things to come..... those are the little things I wanted to get, besides tinted windows... the big ones will have to wait until the holiday check arrives!!

thoughts, comments, did I buy the right CAGS defeat?

Congrats.

This is only the beginning.

As far as the CAGS - as long as it is for the right year then you will be ok. FYI - CAGS defeat will be used on the driver's side. Very easy to install...

I'm going through the same dress-up phase as yourself, I just ordered countour-fitting floormats from West Coast Corvettes... not much dirt can get trapped on around them & they keep the floor like it was new... they run a few bucks, but I'd consider them if I were you. Good luck & keep us posted.

Are you talking about these?
http://www.westcoastcorvette.com/sho...il.cfm?id=1665

They are definately cool, but I want rubber... especially on the passenger side, nobody ever seems to avoid oil and water and gum and mud when they get into the passenger side, so with rubber, I don't have to worry abou tthem avoiding that stuff.. .peace of mind... the ones from PFYC seem to fit pretty well, at least in that picture....

I will get some pics of them when they arrive... I will keep them regardless, 50 bones is my motivation...

how do I install the CAGS defeat? Im sure a write up has been done... is there a link to that write up that someone knows about? Thanks

Glad you're in the brother/sisterhood (need that political correctness). Mods are like a snowball rolling downhill ... it picks up dollars as you pick up speed and bling! Only difference is there is no bottom to the hill!

You are being drawn into the world of modding. Can get expensive, but the results are well worth it.

dude, you have no idea because you havent driven it since you installed the Performance Hood Seal -- but ...

well lets just say that you should stap yourself in nice and tight

that performance gain is quoted anywhere from 15HP+ right up to 60HP+ depending on the installation

Congrats!
