Default installing bilsteins

Well i finally managed to get ahold of 4 bilstein sports, but can't find the page on the DIY install. Anyone know of the link to it? Any help would be appreciated

Most importaintly, how do you get the top nut tightened? Every time i try and tighten it, the whole shaft moves

WEll, i just went through this...to remove the old one i just used some vice grips...but to re-install the new one...up front you can access the top of the struts via the engine compartment....like on the drivers side you just loosen up the radiator reserve.

We used a TON of zip ties to compress the strut to get it in and out of the car, this was not necessary, infact up front the second time around i just dropped the lower a-arm much faster and easier!

If you have any more questions pm me, i'll have to go out side and remember the rest.

I think I loosened the coolant overflow and windshield wiper tanks and used an Allen wrench, but my memory is fading.

I just replaced my shocks. The front shocks can be done by using two wrenches, one to hold the center square shaft and the other to turn the nut. You don't need to access this from above to do it right.

The absolutely best DIY link I found on changing shocks was this one:

http://www.crossedflags.com/nuke/htm...=article&sid=4

If you do a search around the forums, you'll see folks referring to the "McRat" method, or the "zip tie" method. They all originate from this DIY article. It's kind of funny -- this guy measures difficulty by the number of beers it takes to do the job -- a six pack in this case. I found that one beer, and a few hours of wrenching is what it took me to do the fronts for the first time ever. Good luck!
