Default Question About In-Dash DVD Player

I just recently had a panasonic 7" in dash DVD player installed in my 02' Z06. It sticks out of the dash alot farther than I expected. To all you guys who have in dash DVD players how far does yours stick out of the dash? I am wondering if I could order another kit to make it more flush with the dash or if it has to stick out as far as it does. The guy at the stereo place said the dash was really shallow and it wouldn't go back any further without cutting something in the dash. This may be true but I wanted to get a 2nd opinion for sure! If it can go farther in and be mounted flush where can I order the kit to do it? THANKS GUYS! I'll post pics of it this weekend for all who want to see!

I have had three different in dash DVD units, three different brands in three different cars and they all stuck out abit beyond what you would consider factory....I offer no solution but it seems to be so for standard installations....

Yeah. I was wondering if they stick out because they have too or because they think they need to extra space to keep the screen away from the dash when it's open?
