Default 02 vs 03-04

So ive heard from a couple "02"(not 01) Z owners that the ls6 is a bit stronger in late 03s to 04 Zs compared to the 02. Anyone else heard or know of this?

02 had Electron Blue and that had to be worth some extra HP

in 03' GM changed the fuel system and redid the tuning on the cars. I think the retune on the PCM made a little more hp. They seem to run a little leaner than the 02's

If it were true then most of the fastest quarter miles would be run by 04s. Instead most are run by 02s. Not sure why that is. Perhaps seat time. But certainly 04s are NOT making any notably more power than 02s or 03s.

may have something to do with the miles on the motor... i have heard that the LS1/LS6 motors get a little stronger around 20-30k miles something to do with breakin

Funny- I've always heard the 02's were the faster of the 405hp Z06es.

I have a couple of friends with ZO6`s one has an 02 and the other an 03.They haved raced on several occasions both from a standstill and from a roll.Ive never seen the 02 lose yet.Ive driven both and they ofcourse are very close..I cant tell which is faster.
There could just be a difference in drivers abilities. This is just what I saw personally.

The only thing I know is from the magazine road test review that the 02 is faster from 0-60 and the 03 was faster in the quarter mile according to Motortrend. (2 cars about .2 seconds apart on two different days means nothing) I think the two cars are exactly identical except for the nose and rear deck lid badges. The 04 I have no idea.
