New column lock info?
Whats up here, anyone know? Last year I had my column lock recall done on my A4. Today my brother (Shark 78) picked up his 2000 silver vert from Dave Heather Chev Cad in Fondulac,Wi. The column lock recall was still open and we advised the service manager to make sure this was taken care of before delivery. When we picked the car up today we were advised GM stopped this recall on the a4's as the programing was causing shutdown after one mph. This particular dealer stated they had two vetts that acted the same. GM, we were advised, has no fix at this time and would be advising those affected by mail when a solution comes up. I have never had a shutdown on my vert after the recall was done. I questioned the service manager if he was mistaken between the a4 and the manual trans. He stated no. Anyone else hear of this? Now one wonders if you should leave the driveway.

My A4 had the recall done by GM last Dec. and a couple of weeks ago I had this happen with the "pull key, wait 10 secs" message ... happened twice in a row but has not recurred. Not sure what is going on but have read some of the harness k's are bad. More info would be good
