From what i read and heard the HAL dont have that great quality has been some issues with leaking shocks and so on. They also seem more dragracing oriented than auto-x so i wouldnt recommend them.
I have just bought a coilover kit from Callaway with single adjustable shocks which is migthy nice same as Porsche and Viper has and you can ditch the inferior leafspring suspension. DRM and LG also have nice coilover setups they arent adjustable but still very good. It all really depends how long your prepared to go, if you just want a little better handling buy 2004 Z06 shocks or if you want something better go coilovers.

Thanks for the update. I was looking for a dragg shock, that also did well on the street and still see an HPDE a few times a year. I would love to drop a 10th from the 60' and dial it back and have the same great handling on the street too. Thanks again!

My racing buddy has them on his Z28 (for 2 years now) and loves them. His car looks fantastic when he launches with them on the low settings. Quality looks good and they are rebuildable. I have been spending money on other mods, but they are coming in the near future. If you do a search, you will see plenty of C5 owners using them on the strip, but not so much on Auto-X. The best price I have seen on the QA-1 is $900 a set.

Dave, I put these on the 94 last month. Like them so far, the low setting has alot of play. The stiff do really well on the road. Right now, we are running on 5 clicks for the street and love the smooth ride. Very comfortable. The low setting had a lot of front end raise when launching. When you get back, feel free to get up with me and check them out. So pleased so far, they will go onto the Z when the time comes.
And as always, keep your head down.

Hey brother great to hear from you!!!! I am doing lots of shopping over here Trying to find a set up that will do well in the 1/4 and the street and an HPDE every now and then. How is your Speedway White doing? I still can not belive the night at the track last summer when there where 2 white Zs there I will definatly like to see them, March maybe??? Hopefully sooner. I am fine and safe and enjoying the break we are getting now as the high is down to 107 from 120. Thanks brother!

Default Hey Road Racers! Whaddaya think?

I'm into road racing and am considering a few mods to the car. What will give me the most bang for the buck, beefed-up stability bars or a set of racing tires? Any other suggestions?
