Delrin is a wicked hard self lubricating plastic. It is really swet stuff that can be machined easly. I have made several items out of it including table tops, saw fences, and helped with a few delrin supressors for firearms and paintball guns.

I'm getting a mental picture of a hard slippery shift ****... and that sounds gross
if this post is for real and not a joke, then look over there<<<click on hardbar,go to the corvettes part when you get in there, and you'll see the delrin shift **** in the car.

Why would I post this as a joke? This is a way more worthy topic to go here than "No one waved at me today..."
I've designed lots of components that were machined out of Delrin over the years. Awesome stuff. It's a little slik feeling but not in a bad way. You can even knurl it to make the surface extremely grippable. I designed the left and right pieces in the pic below for my wideband O2 sensor installation a few months ago. They were machined on a CNC mill.
Interesting....but if Delrin is self lubricating/slick feeling why would they make a shift **** out of it? Wouldn't that be the opposite of what anyone would want?
as eatrice stated. i use it in my paintball gun and it works great. as for a shift **** i say dont knock it til youve tried it. i think there was a pic of the c5r and its shifter looks like white delrin.
Build High speed conveyor systems and we use tons of it for switches, chainguides and other things where wear is a problem. Machined easily and very durable. Can be polished too, to some extent. works great for mounting taillights flush. will be doing that soon.
