I currently have flush SS rear inserts but , depending on the lighting, they sometimes do not stand out enough for me. Does anyone know if someone has for sale raised chrome or SS....which is of very good quality ? Thanks
I don't think anybody makes a raised SS insert. There are acrylic raised inserts available. You can find them on Ebay. Just do a search for "c5 letters" and it will take you right to them. HOWEVER, some people have complained about the raised letters catching on towels, sponges, or what ever. From what I have read, most folks like the flush SS inserts. Just my 2 cents. Good luck.

I had ss inserts on my Z 28 but with my Corvette I just masked off right up to the letters on all 4 sides, then sprayed flat black and used a moist (with mineral spirits) lint free paper towel to lightly wipe over the area. looks real classy and not overdone. have not had to repaint in 3 years!.oh, make sure the area is wax free before painting should you go this route. http://home.att.net/~sy13/corvetteogc5.html

Dad has the acrylic letters and as long as you are careful, you shouldn't have a problem.
I got mine from ebay (atlanticcorvette) $44, they look to be the same as what mid-america is selling for $89, I got the stainless inserts after reading the pros and cons from forum members on all the other varieties, they look very good, the middle piece of the E is a little short, just gotta be very steady when putting them on because they stick real good and are hard to pull off and correct.
