Default Thanks OGC5, cool idea

I got this idea from OGC5 earlier this afternoon and decided to give it a try.
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...9&forum_id=103

Always love those cheap DYI ideas.

Original...before:

Mask it off. I did a bit more detailed masking than OGC5 did. Just saved a lot of clean-up after the tape is removed.

First coat of a quality flat black spraypaint.

Second coat after about an hours time for the paint to set.

Complete job. I used a little paint thinner and an old Tee shirt to clean up around the letters.

Fantastic, now get over here and do mine. I will supply the newspaper but bring a couple of different color paint cans.....oh and bring beer..........my favorite brand is FREE. NICE WORK, took a lot of patience.........masking, painting and then waiting to see how it looks.

Paul I know EXACTLY how you feel. I told my wife it's either going to look really cool or I'm going to totally screw up the rear of my car. It was with great trepidation that I pulled the trigger on that spray can.

Can I make a suggestion for the next person though. Go to your local paint and bodyshop supply place and ask for a fiberglass pencil. It's just a pencil with a 1/8" diameter of fiberglass strands so you can sand inside the recess. If you don't, you may find all that beautiful and hard work will blow off if you use a pressure washer.

Nonetheless, beautiful job...

Mark
