Default 01 on 00 keyless remote won't work

My 00 vet keyless remote (part # GM 10432147) has a damaged possitive side batt. contact tab inside the unit . . So I ordered two new remotes from Keylessride.com. My original remote has only 4 buttons: lock, unlock, horn & truck. Keylessride said a 2000 should have a 5 button type (5th button being a auto unlock) Because I only have a 4 button type they said a 2001 style remote will work . . but, it didn't. I did the 9 step activation procedure, got to HOLD LK + UNLK 1ST FOB . . held LOCK AND UNLOCK 15 sec . . . thats it . . .nothing. The Fcc # on my original remote are AB00216T but the Fcc on the new replacement are KDBLEAR1XT Question: what does everybody else have on a 2000 vet 4 button or 5 button? Is the fcc # AB00216T the same on all 2000 vetts. In my original remote the batt. is mounted in the back half of the split open case and the replacement remotes have a smaller diamiter batt mounted in the button/pc board side of the split open case. Which button type goes on a 2000 vet? Anybody have any ideas? I just bought the car and have never used the remote it came with as the remote was damaged when I got it (cant go back bought as is) Thanks for any help. P.S. anybody have a nonworking remote matching mine that has a good back half case to sell cheeeeep?

01+ remotes will NOT work. You can use a 97-99 or a 00 unit. 97-99 have the passive switch 2000 does not. These remotes are thicker than the 01+ remotes..

To the best of my knowledge, the 2000 remotes were one year only. I don't think the 97-99 remotes will work. The new ones positively will not work. Check on Ebay, there is usually a 2000 fob every week or two. They usually sell for around $40-50 each.

You have to have the same GM p/n 10432147 fob for it to work. I got a spare on ebay.
