Default Question about these Jet-Hot Headers

Keep seeing these on ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33631
The Fbody community raves about JetHot headers (or used to in my Fbody days). I know they had fitment issues in the past but this claims they have the new batch that fix this issue. I understand the down sides to non stainless steel but my question about this post is:

How hard is it to connect these to my stock H-pipe and Cats? Notice I didn't ask about HP numbers or installation ease. Just want to know how these hook up to my stock system. Is it bolt on or is it going to required some fabrication and welding? THanks in advance forum members

I have Jet Hot LT's and ORY on my '98 WS6 that required some grinding to assure clearance. I still hear some rattles from time to time when they're cold from where they barely touch a heat shield too.

Supposedly these were from the 'later batch' that fit better than the previous batches. ha.

I don't think they're horrible headers but the fit could be improved. I picked up ~18 rwhp and more than that in torque.

Any C5's with these things out there that can comment?

I recently put Jet-Hots on my 2001 coupe. It was a PITA from the get-go. The headers did not align properly and the installer forced the issue. As a result I had leaks, error codes and the tailpipes were skewered in different directions. Installer did not seem to be too concerned. Took it to a muffler guy who specializes in high performance cars. He welded on flanges and got everything put together and aligned like it 's supposed to be. I continued to get a P1416-Air System Fault code. After another Corvette specialist ran diagnostics, it was determined that the air tube in the right header was not allowing suffecient air to pass through to satisfy the O2 sensor. Took the header back off, sent back to Jet-Hot and had the air tube cleared, re- installed. Everything is fine now and the car runs like a scalded dog.

Extra costs above initial install. Flanges and re-alignment: $200.00. DIagnostics to run down the air fault problem: $140.00. Without the car for 3 weeks.

Now, to be fair to everyone. First installer refunded to me the $200 spent at the mufflershop and apologized that his technician was such an azz. Jet-Hot has refunded (haven't receive the check yet) $150 to cover diagnostics.

Having said all that, if you intend to install them yourself, you may consider flanging them first. If you're going to have it done in a shop, I think the extra money to have flanges installed will save a lot of headaches. AND don't forget to make sure the air tubes are not restricted.

i had them on my trans am and never drove it in the rain and the coating started rusting just from the little driving and racing i did. sure jet hot will re-coat them, but you have to pay for shipping on both ends and take them off and send them away for a week plus.

i would save the hassle and get stainless kooks or lg's from the begining.

That's almost exactly what installer #1 told me. Shoulda bought Kooks (that's the brand they sell) and have it done with. He was right!

I have Stainlessworks LT's on my Camaro, and, while they were a bit of a PITA to install, the fit and finish once theyre installed is amazing. Clearance is great, plug access is great, no complaints whatsoever and would buy from them again. If not stainlessworks, I would go Kooks or LGM.
