I'm going to replace my front license plate cover and have the stainless inserts......I was wondering if any of you had to do the same thing, and if so, were you able to take off and re-use the inserts?? I don't really want to fork up another $60 for a set.
If you are very gentle, and they were installed with the double sided tape, you can get them off without bending or creasing them. Use heat to soften the glue (a hairdryer or heat gun will work), then carefully work a flat blade under them at one end and work slowly to the other end.

He said it all. It's going to be tough not to bend them while trying to get them off. Good luck take your time and lots of Goo Gone.
And scrape off old tape/adhesive & re-apply using the red, 3-m double sided tape (got it at Lowes). I did it w/ a few I gooned up during application and they've held up through a snowstorm that encased the front in ice.

My "R" was lifting in the back, because the wash mit would catch on the tail of the R. I lifted it off gently, (use a little heat) removed the old foam tape, cleaned with acetone and reapplied the new sticky back tape that matched perfectly that I got from an auto parts store. Trimed with an exacto knife and stuck it back on. Can't tell it from a "good job". Good luck!
