I'll be painting my calipers soon and need to make a decision on what color. I have a Metallic Navy Blue car and can't decide between Red or Blue. Can everyone post pics of their Navy Blue car with painted red or blue calipers? Also, for those of you with Blue calipers, what paint did you use that matches the Navy Blue the best? Where to buy, etc?
It's really a personal choice. That said, I don't like any colors on calipers other than the stock or red - color-coordinated calipers seem, well, contrived or something.
I'll post pics tomorrow, I have the navy blue metallic, and went with the red calipers. It was looking good when i went and looked at it earlier, can't get it until tomorrow
however, i think it looks best when you paint the brake assembly with semi-gloss black engine paint, and then paint just the caliper the colorofchoice.
Trying to make the same choice. I'm leaning towards black caliper and painting the "Corvette" letters red. I have used a product called stove black(from the old days when we had a cast iron pot belly stove)
I chose dark blue. Have gotten numerous comments on how good they look. I just choose not to mention the actual color. I might get stoned to death on the forum. hints: four letter word, fix or repair daily. High temp blue, Auto zone. pic in profile. If you do start throwing rock, hit me, not the car.
Mine are black, to match the car. I like them much better than red, on a black car. I say either match the car perfectly, or go black. Red has just about been done to death.
The red does look good with NBM, but is fairly common.
I had the calipers painted "brushed gold" with blue letters. I was happy with this but recently changed to NBM with gold letters.
I used a high temp navy blue krylon for base coats then followed with NBM paint from your chevy dealer and testors model paint for the letters. All of this covered with clear coat.
This has held up well for 10,000 miles and weekly cleanings.

Well said!
I want them to match my socks!
