Anyone with LED's, please step inside ...
I have the 9 LED bulbs in my map lights (I replaced my halogen bulbs), but for some reason, when I turn the map light only on ... the lights are dim. Just started happening.
If I turn the all the interior lights on, the map lights are nice and bright.
Also, I noticed that if I turn on the map light, my hood light goes dim (I also replaced the halogen bulb with a 9 LED bulb as well).
Anyone with electronics background have any ideas? I am just stumped. TIA.
Interesting. I'll have to see if this is happening with mine. I just did my mirror LEDs this last weekend and have yet to drive it at night. If mine is doing the same thing, I'll have my electrical engineer buddy take a look at it. I'll keep you updated.

Just re-read this part. I had the LEDs in my mirror before as well. My brother-in-law has a '98 with the 212 bulbs. He just ordered a set, I'll have him take a look for this anomoly when we do his install.
Yep, I had the same problem. Also, the LED map lights would only only work (dimly) with the switches on the mirror - they wouldn't come on when the doors were opened with the other interior lights. i couldn't get them to work, so I went back to the regular bulbs and everything worked fine again.
Dave,
If it is not real hard, take the LEDs out and put the regular bulbs back in, that way you can see if it is the LEDs or something else in the system. I kind of suspect one of the LED's may have opened up or shorted out. But if the standard bulbs work ok, then the probem must be in the LED. Maybe we can look at it at Ray's house on the 4th. Just let me know so I can bring a volt/ohm meter...... Dwayne
