Anyone good a running a buffer?

1st) When you say buffer, do you mean an orbital polisher or a high speed buffer. We don't use orbital polishers in the bodyshop, only high speed buffers. Air and electric. If you are using a high speed, you need to be using a waffle pad. (usually gray or black color)
You will need a swirl remover, (as opposed to polish)
2nd) Be sure you are using a high grade swirl remover. 3M or the such.
3) if you are using a high speed buffer, it shouldn't turn more than 1800rpms.
4) Don't apply too much or too little pressure.. just the weight of the buffer with minimal pressure.
5) Once you're done with the swirl remover, you need to go over it with handglaze and then wax.
6) be sure to use a soft cotton to remove the handglaze and wax.
7) use straight back and forth methods, not in a circular motion.

Here's a couple of questions that will be asked to solve your problem. What products did you use (polish, swirl remover, pads and buffer). How fast did you run the buffer. Was it rotary or random orbital. Did you claybar the car.
