This is for my '04 GTO but no one on the GTO Forum had an answer so please help me out.
I am going to have the body shop install some bumper inserts so that I can have a split dual exhaust. The inserts are black urethane. when installed, you will only be able to see the lip where it will be attached (glued actually) to the bumper.
I want to paint them flat black. I was thinking of using Krylon for plastic spray paint.
Taking into account the small visible area of them, would this work/last? If not, what other DIY option do I have?
I'm no painter, but I have had some success with fuel rails. All I did was a little light dry sanding, wipe down, spray vinyl primer, spray vinyl paint and then clear coated. I did learn that patience is crucial. I tried to re-coat to soon and got nasty bubbling. Also....Multiple light coats
Wash part with soap and water first. Then, you can sand with 400 dry.Sand enough to dull down the shiny finish of the plastic.Wipe clean.Spray light coats until covered.Should do fine.
