Several weeks ago I was traveling up I-75 near Gainesville and a six "Alligator" (6ft truck tread) flew out from underneath the car in front of me, I could not Dodge it! Car flew over it and jumped and I watched it exit from underneath my Vette and fly up and hit the car behind me, all while doing about 75 m.p.h.WOW ! I had a big black tattoo on the front of the nose and was pretty but I rubbed it out and not one scratch from the steel belts!! Well last week while getting the oil changed I noticed the metal bracken that holds the front spoiler was severely bent quite a bit. I priced out a new one and got one sent from Ecklers, In the mean time while waiting for it to arrive I took a ride, boy did the temperature (coolant ) go up fast up to 212 with in five miles , in city traffic, I learned that the spoiler DEFINITLY serves its purpose for directing airflow up to the radiator as well improving the airflow under neath the car. Just thought I would share this with you.
I have the old spoiler in the cubbard of my garage, just to bent up the springs were 19.95 each and the rubber spoiler is 19.95 I got the whole package complete for $70.00 .it neat to have a new Mod on the car that is spa nkin brand new!!

Here's a little tip for those that may have too much "spring noise" whenever the center spoiler flexes; cut two pieces of rubber hose about 5" long, slit them down the side and wrap them around the two springs. Now the springs won't "sound off" when the spoiler flexes since they are insulated from the surrounding area(s). Cheap too!
Just repaired mine this morning. Looked and it did not look right. It was bent up in the middle and covering up some of the radioator. It was and not riding in the two aluminum tabs that hold it in place. Removed it and bent the metal back into shape, cleaned the air damn with tire shine, put the air dam and springs back on and bolted it down.
Seems to run about 3 degrees cooler as there is more of a scoop angle to it. Going to make on at work and reverse the way it is scooped to see if it picks up more air. While you are under there clean the radiator out. Used a vacuum and then washed it out with a pump sprayer. You would not believe the crud that came out.
