I have recently heard a barely audible buzzing coming from the rear right side of the car when slowly accelerating from a stop. It seems to happen just before and/or after the automatic shifts gears. The buzzing doesn't last long, and even though I have tried to get it to continue in order to try and identify it further, it only lasts for a couple of seconds. I have tried to maintain my speed once I hear the buzzing, but it still stops after a second or two.
Now I know that some of you will say that to take care of the problem, I should only accelerate at a much faster rate. Others will tell me to turn up the radio. Etc., etc.
One other person has reported this in the tech section, but I suspect he is describing something different (tires).
Has anyone else experienced this buzzing in their automatic vettes?
Can you tell if the buzzing frequency has any relationship to other frequencies in the car (engine rotation, wheels, driveshaft, clutch discs or gears in the tranny)? Does it happen only near one gear change, or all of them? Does it occur at any particular rpm range or suspected fuel flow?
The buzzing seems to occur when shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd (automatic tranny). Can't tell if it occurs when shifting from 3rd to 4th. Have not heard the sound when just sitting and reving the engine. Will try some different things tomorrow.
