Default Windshield polishing

Anyone ever polish a windshield? I have a small mark on my windshield, must have been caused by wipers on a dirty windshield. Car was setting on a dealer lot pretty dirty when I found her with only 3000 miles in her. But the windshield wipers had been run dirty. Can't feel any of the scratches with a fingernail. Just don't know what product to try.

Check with your local glass supplier. There are some polishes that can be used. The latest in hi-tech vandalism seems to be spraying graffiti messages on plate glass windows with an etching solution. While in Philadelphia recently I watched a guy polishing some of this garbage off. I'm sure your's wouldn't be as bad.

Griot's Garage has what you need. It is better if you have a random orbital polisher to apply the compound. griotsgarage.com

I tried this kit.It was inexpensive. It did not work but I think my scratches were too deep (as a glass place told me).I would order this kit and try it.

I've had good luck with this one and my Porter Cable. I had some water spots etched in that I could not get out. This got them out.

Just an idea . . . If the marks are more an issue of dirt/mineral build up vs. pits and scratches, you might try a product like Lime-Away or "CLR". They do a great job of taking off stuff that seems to not come off easily by mechanical/physical means. Both are cheap and usually available at hardware stores and even supermarkets. Good luck!

You might want to try the clay bar if you have that already. I used it on my glass and it works great for getting out waterspots, and other imperfections.

You might try this also. http://www.jestcoproducts.com/glass_polishing1.html I haven't used it but it was in my favourites.

I had several small scratches on my windshield. Tried some ReJex on it and the scratches came right out.
