Great story of yours btw. I don't know if I would feel comfortable having a leo in my ride. I've got nothing to hide mind you; it's just the comfort level. Kinda wierd considering one of my old friends is a leo, but I've never taken him for a spin. Please don't ask, because I really cant explain it.
One half-hour of driving my neighbors' and I pulled the trigger...
Couple of months after buying an '87, my other neighbor sat in mine (he's a big fella) and after a few more months, he pulled the trigger on a 2000...
Got a Pentagon cop ready to pull the trigger, after taking my baby around the corner...
And my biggest test yet, is to convince the new Deputy Secretary of Defenst not to sell his Torch Red '98, MN6...
I am not taking anybody on any back roads for pure bliss with my car or anything else of mine.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

I picked him up from the airport in Oakland and the guy says 'nice ride', he was behind me(first time we meet face to face). Before I looked back I said 'thank you', then saw him and said 'ah, sh@t'(saw a pic of him before).
I was driving real slow for a while. Then he asked what is could do, and pointed to his badge and id. He said he would have my back if someone stopped us. All I did was downshift a few times to 4th and pick up 10-15 mph...nothing really fast, but enough to show him the torque she had. He was very impressed and is now not into SUV's but Corvettes, namely C5s.
Bottom line, he is a cool guy, and I hope I have a new driving buddy. And to the guy that originally posted, great story. Funny we had a similar experience. Cool. That is a big part of what Vette ownership is about. Not being a guy who has a uppety look on his face because his ride has the crossflags on the hood. So,
