1st a buddy was driving my truck, got pulled over for 76 in a 70.
V1 did not chirp nada.
2nd I was driving the vette and got passed by a 3/4 chevy
pulling a horse trailer about the size of mobile home. I was in
no hurry so let him go. Saw a cop up the road, nothing on V1,
but as he passed whipped around and went after that truck.
He followed that truck for probably 5 miles before he pulled over.
Is there something new out there, is the V1 out of date
I have had similiar experiences with the V1 not going off as I drive by speed traps. Maybe the officer didn't pull the trigger, I don't know.
But my V1 is at least 8 years old and is being upgraded right now. I sent it back for an upgrade to include the POP. So hopefully I should be better protected.
V1 Description: Radar circuitry known in-house as V1.8. This is our latest and best performer on both radar and laser with just one exception—it lacks POP Protection. Of interest to those who drive in Europe, the latest V1 version also has a Euro Mode.
Upgrade Recommendation: You have a sophisticated security system, and we’re cautious about recommending an Upgrade. If you believe in keeping up with technology, particularly if the POP Mode is being used in your area, then go ahead. V1’s approach to the POP problem is superior to all others in the industry. If you drive in Europe, you will appreciate our new Euro Mode which improves protection on photo radar as it is used in the E.U.
Called and talked with a rep and she said that if they arent using
it our area, you dont need it. Well dont know if they are using
it or not. So not much help from a live conversation
My guess is they are using it and that it what you encountered. I thought I found a website at one time about what states are using it. I will post it if I can find it again.

Don't assume that they are using radar. Did they tell your buddy that they got him on radar or was he just assuming. For the horse trailer, could be that the LEO thought he was running fast so turned around and paced him to get a reading.
Alot of the tickets come from pacing (my last one did ) and from the old fashoned way of clocking you between to points on the road. Cannot automaticly assume that radar is in use.
