Default Vararam Customized/Improved.....Much Better

I got my vararam VRB2 in the mail a week ago and noticed how it was pieced together and large gaps and only one little weep hole for water.....

......so I modified it myself, cheap and easy too.

Got some foam insulation at home depot for like $3-4 bucks, got a 5/32 drill bit for $3 bucks and some GM Black paint at autozone for $4 bucks.

1 Took the foam and sprayed it in the hug gaps around the fog light housing inbetween the airshafts and filled them in......let it harden and dry overnight and cut away the excess.

2 Sprayed the yellowish foam with black paint so you dont' hardly even see it.

3 Drill out 3 more holes to superdisapate any possible water that may creep in there.

I'll bet it 10x's better now and wont' get my engine bay dirty with those huge gaps letting in excess air to my engine bay as well as flush more water with the extra holes.

I know, I know, I need to post pics, I don't have a digital camera and I just got it finished last night.

It's super easy, seriously, you'll be happier you did it too.
I'll PM you.

Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, no pics.

Just go to home depot, get there little can of insulation foam called "Great Stuff" with the little tube and squirt it around those huge gaps were they cut out the hole to connect the shafts, then let it sit, dry and harden overnight. Take a sharp knife and carefully cut away the excess bubbly hardened foam inside the fog light housing and outside, then just spray paint that part black.

Then I drilled some extra holes since the hydra lock pararanoia is in full affect for most people.

If someone wants to swing by Fri. with a digital, we can post some pics. It's good to have pics, I know, but this is so simple too you really don't need them.

It looks good trust me....
You dont' hardly even notice the foam that's trimmed after you spray it black.
Plus that insulation foam is airtight.

Drill whatever size holes you want for the weep holes, I chose 5/32 since it was close to the origional weep hole size.

Next I just need to find a couple extra latches to help keep it shut, I dont' trust the ones it comes with. I'd like one that locks shut like the origional ones.
