Early 2000 Thin spoke question
Just bought a set of polished thin spokes , mfg date 01/15/00. Are these wheels cast or forged? Didn't they change process midyear with these wheels? Thanks for any info.

good question , i want to know also , and here is what i know
i have a 2000 w\high polished born 4/26/2000, i had a bent front rim and 1 back scuffed rim so i bought a set from forum member 2 weeks ago from 2002.
i cannot tell the difference while setting by the current rims. there is more.
story is they started out forged and changed mid year to cast , i took pictures of back of my rims and 2002 i bought to dealer today . he called and said they did not change anything part # wise , so you cannot tell by looking at stampings on wheels . bob at house of wheels said"the forged rims say alcoa and the cast say speedline.you can also check with the chevy dealer.give him the part number that begins with 9 thanks bob"
i cannot find anything on rims that says this on my rims . i am going sat and change out the front bent rim and see if i can tell the difference once it has a tire on it . maybe mine are cast ?
casts are supposed to be a little thicker spokes .
i think 2000 forged are thinner, 2000-2004 that are casts are all the same .
