What kind of damage can you do to your car if, say, you accidentally
released the clutch while in 1st (dead stop... i.e. parked)? Can't believe I did that! First time I've
stalled the vette in over 3 years of driving it! I know you probably won't
do too much damage if you stall every now and then, but I had to ask...
Almost hit the wall in the pic below!!!
Been driving sticks since '87, btw...
I've stalled mine a few times over the years while sitting still and forgetting that I was in gear. Hasn't seemed to cause any problems that I'm aware of.
I think you answered your own question. The only damage is if you hit something. Seriously I have never heard of any damage from stalling the car. Just embarrassing!! But we'll let it go this time.
By the way I love those wheels. If you stall it again you'll have to give me your wheels.
Everyone above is right. You won't do your vette any harm. It happens hundreds of time to the stick shift learner cars at the Sears School of Driving so once in your car is no problem. NICE WHEELS!!
Relax you are fine! If you think that might have caused a damage to anything what do you think happens when dragsters drop the clutch hit the brake and apply full throttle at the same time?
The good thing is that it happened in my garage so I don't think anyone noticed
The bad thing is that it happened in my garage and it almost hit the wall!
I woulda whacked me in the head if the car got messed up! The wife woulda
whacked me in the head if the house got messed up!
