Try that in Texas (where it's LEGAL to carry a gun) and see how far you get! I'm sorry you had to go through that nightmare, but I'm glad it came to an end! Try not using the finger....

If you ain't ready to back it up it might be best to keep the finger in it's holster

Let's set one thing straight! I am not from Texas, by the way.

There are many places where it is "legal to carry a gun" if you have the qualifications.

People who carry guns do not shoot folks who give them the finger.

They are not that immature or that unstable, are you?

Try a little harder to conceal your ignorance.

Isn't it just like today's society.

Here a guy is, minding his own business and some jerk gets all
beligerent and agressive and the victim retaliates with a finger.

Oooohhhh...Big crime.

Yet all you guys can do is harp on "mattB" for displaying a reactional
finger.

The other guy drives recklessly, acts aggresively and actually
demonstrates an assualt-like act several times by following, cutting him off, blocking his way and getting out of his car.

Yet all you can do, including you LEOs, is blame the victim?

You may not like the finger, but it still gives you no right to attack
someone else for any reason.

Yeah, it's wise to be careful because you never know what can happen,
but it's the other guy who was the aggressor.

And if mattb had taken off at a high rate of speed to get away or even
precipitated a chase from the other guy, I bet the LEOs would have
given him a boatload of summones plus laughed their butts off as they
hauled is *** off to jail.

My point is if you retaliate no matter who is at fault be prepared to face the consequences

Using the middle finger was very stupid! Next time use your head!! Wave a .45 ACP next time please! lol j/k

And I live here in TX and have a CHL and have never carried it, atleast when I'm just driving around town because I'm not so sure I could ever control my temper. Not that I am an *** or anything....I just don't want to ever be put in a situation like that. I do carry two modded .45's anytime I travel though...just to protect me and mine.

Me and a friend were going to see a movie the other day and I was driving my vette. We were just cruising along minding our own business when out of nowhere I get cut off by a huge flatbed truck. Normally I would let it go. But this guy cleared my by maybe 2-3 feet, and then looks back at me through his mirror and is smiling and laughing. You better bet I used the finger on that one.

Dude, I'm not insinuating that I carry/use a gun....I'm talking about maniacs who do!!!!! To answer your question...YES! I am stable...stable enough to know better than to show someone my middle finger... BTW, try not to think of yourself as a mind reader too!

I love how vette owners assume they are driving better cars than everyone else on the road. What a laugh. I own four vettes and never thought they were better than anything else or that I was better than anyone else because of the piece of plastic and metal I drive.

Before you give the finger, make sure you can take the guy. I'm glad you didn't get hurt though. There are crazy people on the road. I tend to ignore everyone and count to ten alot.

First , the only way that your going to get the attention of LEO. is to do five over! Im sorry I know what that sounds like but Its been a proven FACT that in towns all over the country, law enforcement has strict priorities and fund raising is the number one its too bad that they are "just following orders"but to many city councel meetings have too many tax payers asking just exactly what else are these officers doing???

second, Im sorry but I believe in this case that the hand "jive" wasnt as segnificant to the behavior of this "nascar" fan as simple jelousy I think that he didnt need even that much provication to be himself

It's not about blaming Matt, he's even admitted responding was not a good idea, the guy was obviously pissed because he probably thought Matt purposely cut him off, whether the guy would have persisted if Matt hadn't responded in kind is unknown, but it obviously didn't help. Best way to handle an idiot like that is to not respond, chances are they'll move on, if not call for help or go to a public area.
