Default Jag Scratch Fever

I got scorched by some kind of Jag as I was accelerating out of a stoplight. All I heard was some kind of supercharger whine and otherwise tame engine sounds. The thing was behind me and when I got into another lane to let him by (since we were approaching a nasty traffic jam anyway, and I was beat from work and suffering from allergies) he laid into it. I was slow to decide to join the rush and that proved my downfall. After he blew by, I felt the defeat because he came back into my lane, only this time in front of me. My gear selection would have been different if I had cared about this event from the stoplight (probably had skip-shifted into fourth).
Guess you could lump this into some kind of rice-burner-slingshot racing incident, but that Cat did move well.

Any idea what kind of Jaguar does this?

or an S-TYPE R...I've driven one of those, and they are pretty quick...though I didn't think it pulled hard enough to take on a vette.

I was looking at used XKR when I was also looking to get a Vette. Would have been about the same price as my 04 for a 4 year old XKR. I am happy I made the decision to go with the Vette. There is more fun with the Vette then worrying about winning every stop light drag race. Do you think Jag owners wave at each other, I think not.

Lots of XJ-6 and XJ-12 conversions out there. There is a XJ-12 conversion in town with a 502 in it. Maybe a blower on one these V-8 conversions.
