I have had my '01 vert for about a month- only thing that I am unhappy about it the backwash with the top down (always). I am
considering the Vette Net- have done searches and turned up almost
nothing. Does anyone have pro or con info on this product? It appears
from the vendors pictures that the brackets go under the corners of
the top hatch- do they have to be removed to put up the top- or just
the Net itself? The net looks like it slides into sockets on the brackets.
Any comments or pictures would be appreciated. Thanks gene
love mine. fine with windows down but best perfomance is with them up. you do need to remove brackets to put top up. can't leave it in place with top up but it fits easily under the compartment top up or down. takes about 2 seconds to put it on or take it off. great product IMO
I don't like the look of the frame. I need to buy one, to experience it, though.
I am in the process of making one out of plexiglass, that will have a nice gasket on the bottom to seal to the hatch, and a bracket that clicks in place, or swings out from under the hatch. Then, when you open the hatch, you can swing it out and lock it in place, then lower the hatch in place. Lots of engineering left in my idea.

It's a great addition to the vert; cuts down on the draft between the headrests. I've let two people try mine on their vert and both of them bought one. Really helps keep the S/O happy!

Thank you all who responded- esp. rickko for the extensive review and
follow up- you did not deserve the flak in that thread.
I use my cars (2 Z28 verts / '66 & '01 C5 vert) for long range touring- typically 500-600 miles a day to get far enough away from Mpls to have
a bit of interesting terrain- have driven to almost every state in this
wonderful country. And (the horror) I do it with the windows up. And
yes I am an Olfa (old fart). I intend to take the 30 day 'trial' from
vette net. Thanks Gene

My S/O uses hers all the time (when the top is down, which is most of the time ).
She wears contact lenses, and cannot drive the Vert (top down) without the Vette Net.
I have one for the Mag Red: other than when I purchased it I have not used it once - but I don't wear contacts
BTW, make sure and get it either painted from the vendor to match your cars color, or have it painted at a local shop.
If the vendor cannot match your paint, ask for it to be shipped WITHOUT the screen as the painter will need to remove it and in doing so the screen is ruined. After painting, ship it back to them for screen installation
I have the old style and use it spring/fall to extend the topless days. Works best on the interstates at speed. Its not for everyone and on really hot days (for me) the top stays up with air on.
No it can not be left in with top up. Its easy to put on/off. Uses a bracket held down by boot after you put top down. Takes less than a min to put on/off working alone.
On the 1st page of my pictures are 2 of the old style. Don't have closeup of bracket-sorry
It works great with the windows up and good with the windows down there was a gp a couple of months ago and the company (vettnet) gave several of us a great buy you mite want to call and see if they would sell it to you at the same price as we got it on the gp 300.00 i think and storage bag was half off orignal price i will have to find the paper work.
More replies- I love this site. We will be traveling with as much luggage
as possible- (2-3 weeks a couple times a year and as many 1 week and
long weekends as I can squeek out) and travel with the top down if it
is not actively raining- or below 50°. It looks like it will fit crosswise in
the trunk OK- how thick is it? Thanks

It does take up trunk space when not in use, just about the size of the openeing and maybe 1-1/2" thick in the protective cover. Loss of trunk space is a slight drawback, but the wife takes less to make sure the vettenet goes on the trip.
