Life has been pretty low and in the dumps lately for me. I know every one hits there all time low in life. I feel I'm hitting mine pretty early. What's funny is every day I'm able to take that little bit of pain and gloom, and wipe it clean when I'm working on my Corvette. Today I fitted some new intake screens on the front bumper. I also fitted the lic plate and fog lamps. I have to re-enforce the entire front nose now. Get it painted and installed. I also got the headlights masked to be painted. I figure by Friday I'll be close to the 99% done mark. All that's left after this is to install a polished fuel door and detail. Man if it wasn't for this car right now I wouldn't have any life or energy in me. Hey at least my car won't leave me right? Un-less somebody steals it. With the alarm I got I would like to see somebody try. Those who are divorsed or had a wife to be prolly know where I am at right now. Tell me... are the roads open with lots or curves ahead or will I be stuck in 2nd gear forever? You guys are like family. Many I've never seen face to face and yet you still help out like if I was your next door neighbor. Thanks again for your help. So how are you doing tonight?

Man - we all have our bad days....
Hang in there. I can't offer you any great sage advice, never been where you are. I've been married to the same woman over 28 years and with her for over 32 years. She is helpful and supportive of my passion for Corvettes, in fact she loves the car as much as I do.

I know exactly what you mean ... I opened a lemonade stand a while back with all the lemons I got
Been 2 yrs. for me (injured / surgeries / off work; no end in sight yet) ... Yes, the car's can be therapy, but a good sense of humor helps a lot too.

Just remember:
1. Everyday above ground is a good day. Everything happens for a reason.
2. You own a Vette, have a roof, food and family/friends (some of us whom you've never met).

Hey MidniteStorm:
Man, reading between the lines, I know exactly where you are and what you're going through. I've been there and done that more times than I want to admit. An empty, empty feeling that doesn't seem to go away.
As another member posted above, time does wonders. It'll all be put into perspective and you'll barely remember the feeling you're experiencing right now. Hang in there, and you're gonna be alright.
When it was my time to go through what you're doing, my dad cheered me up by saying..."Women are like streetcars (buses for you young guys)...if you miss one, there'll be another along in a few minutes."
All of yall are a great group of friends. Speaking of reps... I was kinda worried posting this here was going to get my rear end fried. Good to know you guys are out to help.

Sorry to hear your sad..life sometimes throws us curves, keep your head up & keep looking at that VETTE

But what if we are talking about a '53 Cherry red Corvette with 1,248 miles on it... or a Shelby Gt 500 with 50 miles on it. Maybe I need to start looking at a different class of cars? Like a Chevy malibu? Nevermind I'll wait for another '69 Camaro to come along.

I have no shame. Ask anyone that's met me in person
We all fight, argue and debate here ...but at the end of the day we're all aficionados. That's a pretty strong bond if you ask me.
D - If you're not doin' it ... I am! :o
You should go hang out with Target Chaser ... He has nothing better to do these days
