Anybody do the Intake coolant bypass kit on their vette? I did it and the hose wants to flop down on the water pump pulley. I zip tied the hose to the upper radiator hose with lack of a better idea. Anybody have a better idea? I could probably take longer bulk hose and route it out of the way, but I'm hoping for something a little more clever.
I took a single hose from the radiator to the inlet. I ran it right along the back of the upper radiator support and then directly over to the inlet. Only two connection instead of four and its out of everythings way. You can buy hose support holders that snap into the little hole on the upper part of the fan shroud. I covered my hose with some flex cover and it looks almost stock. (When I get around to buying a digital camera I'll post a picture.)
The Best Idea is to put it back.....because the coolant bypass is a waste of time and effort... you just got sucked into the BS mod society.
The bypass has no effect on intake air temperature.. the air comes in at ambient temp at 10 cubic feet a second. You can not change that temerature by one degree in the micro second that it's in there.
Mother nature delivers air to the intake at her discreation. That's why in the winter when the air is cold and dense, the heated throttle body has no effect and your car feels stronger because it is...
