Default Normal oil pressure?

I just bought a 99 6 speed silver coupe with 26,000 miles. I love the car but I want to make sure that the oil pressure readings I am observing are normal for this car. Here is my question - when the car is warmed up and I am on the highway in 6th gear the oil pressure gauge is just under 40 psi - Is this a normal reading?

Thanks...................

Yep, once the oil is up to temperature, you should see around 38-42 psi at highway speeds. So everything is cool.

The dealer will tell you anything more than 6 psi at 1000 RPM is normal.

I think it would have been more interesting if he did have the answer . . .
