Man, I left a holeshot the other day and was bouncing all over the limiter.... I simply couldn't shift into second fast enough.
In fact, I think the same thing happened the second time I was testing the gas pedal I was at Cruise In. (The first time I forgot to take the traction control off....hehe)

There should be no damage from hitting the rev limiter. Just remember, we only have a rev limiter on the way up. If you down shift at the wrong time there is no protection.........be warned.Paul

Should be no damage if you are accelerating - the limiter is designed to prevent any bad things happening.

With 4.1 rear StuzVette breaks loose and visits the rev limiter occasionally...

That happened to me once......turned out my reaction shell (on the tranni) was cracked. Hitting the rev limiter didn't cause it, it was already cracked and it cause the trani not to shift.
