I've got about 35-40 hours in the 1st sub box fabrication. Keep in mind I've already mirrored all of the shapes etc, cut, rabbeted, beveled, sanded etc for the other side, so it'll go together much faster and easier. After it's complete, I'll make a two or maybe a three part mold off of the box so I can build a final box soley out of fiberglass (with an mdf mounting ring).

You can also see the new panel I fabricated for the rear speakers in some of the pics, it's sealed in a black paint right now. Both of the rear speaker panels are 98% complete. The 2nd sub box is next and then I can begin the amp rack panel fabrication.

Here are some pics so you can see what I'm talking about:

I've been sharing the details of my speaker and sub box panel fabrication progress in the audio forum, here are links to the threads with progress pics:

It'll be several more months before I have any products for sale, but they're coming!

Thats some great work ...but in such a small passenger compartment wouldn't that turn your eardrums into toast ..I mean I have seen those ghetto rice fartcans with huge speakers riding down the road and all you hear is Boomboom.......boomboom.......boomboom.. .and see some riced out kid with his red eyes bulging out of his head in part because of the vibration ...how loud do you even need it to hear the words in the song??...seems like mine is too loud right now and with Brian's partition it even makes it louder......also I noticed that since the cabin space is smaller because of the partition that the a/c works even better...darn near freezer temperatures...I'm thinking about storing my extra TV dinners behind the seats now ........

Update:...just figured out why the fartcan ricers want eardrum busting sound...it is to cover up the constant fartcan sound of the exhaust

Jim,

Let me save you some time and just tell you to avoid 'bmathews' at all costs.

He is the guy that decided that he needed to steal the complete web site design that I did for Dan at Exotic Vette. I dont mean that he copied some ideas, I mean that he downloaded the entire site and the put his name on it and uploaded it up on his server. Well, he says that he told his web design guy to make it 'similar' in design but then he decided to steal the whole thing. After I threatened to sue him for stealing intellectual property rights he had it removed within 48 hours. Since Dan @ Exotic Vette was the very first person to invent the partitions I would also imagine that he stole Dans design as well.

Let me know if you want one and I'll hook you up with Dan. His is what I had in my car and it was awesome. I'll make sure you get a good discount also.

I got one from Dan and I am very happy with it. It matches the original grey carpet, and has a great fit. Noticeable sound dampening, properties. Dan provides excellent service. I also bought his insulation kit and mirrors for the trunk lid. He has package deals on what you need. Thanks Dan.

Jim, it fits behind the waterfall and enhances the sound. this concept was designed originally for a FRC/Zo6 over 2 years ago and works well in verts too. I should have patented it when I did the initial concept before others copied mine. We have a version coming out for the c5 and c6 coupes as well, but this one's had the trip to the patent lawyers office late last year and has utility patent pending currently. Look for this soon too!!

Who said it had to be loud? They're 8" subs and I'm installing 6-1/2" Polk Momo components up front, 5-1/4" Polk Momo coax in the rear and two Polk Momo 8" DVC subs. Polk Audio is known for clarity.

I personally don't like it loud, I like it crystal clear.

I also like crystal clear and Bryan's partition made my stock system sound that way..without any woofers and tweeters and added stuff to the stock system.....maybe its just my plus Brian's partition ....

The following is NOT meant as a slam to the vendor, but there needs to be a little honesty placed into the following quote.

"I should have patented it when I did the initial concept before others copied mine."

Sorry, but this is just incorrect.

Four years ago I purchased (from Andy @ 21st Century MC) a Vert partition. Funny thing is that this was a direct modification of a FRC partition that Andy had done the previous year (read five years ago).

Further, I was the first Vert partition Andy sold. And, it had a matching center section that is an exact match to the Mag Red 1 color of my Vert.

And interestingly enough, the one I have is a Siamese twin to the others offered elsewhere, but without the quality mine has.

So, the question is: who copied who?

If I purchased one four years ago, and the reference below is "over 2 years ago" (implying that it is less than three years), someone needs to fess up as to who copied who.

Dennis,
Those are wood based, correct? Ours are ABS and wiegh only 6lbs finished. Plus the partitions does not need to be moved at all to get the rear center cover out, unlike the wood models.

So Brian -- When will you offer a GP for your divider, especially in the OEM shale? Will you have a booth at Carlisle in August so we can pick a partition up there? Thanks.

Got mine from Dan. Great product and a great man to do business with. He personally delivered mine to me while I was at work.

Brian,
..did you rub it in by hand(massage it in )let it soak in good(looks greasy but it isn't) then wipe it off good?...
All natural ingredients and you can use it as much as you like... It will last a long time but let me know when you use it up..then I'll send you more...

I put some on my rough spots on my elbows and let it sit there overnight and walla...roughness gone ...its like a medicine

I love my partition you made me for the vert...with the red insert...still can't get over how good it looks...still gonna send you pics to post here...(sorta afraid to show people because you may get too many orders to handle...like thousands of orders )if anyone wants a really nice vert partition made of ABS sandwiched in carpet they better get it from you because I sure as heck will not part with mine

Kenny
