Is there any way to determine if the car has Z51 without looking for the code? I know I can order the build sheet from corvettemuseum. Please help if you can.
I read somewhere that if you cruise at 70mph the RPM's (3.15 gears) should be around 2100? someone correct me if I'm wrong! I think the Z51 includes this?

Sorry, forgot to mention, it has a six speed in it so therefor has a 3.42 rear. I know the swaybars should be larger but what is the stock measurement and what is the Z51 measurement. I could put a caliper on thiem and see if I knew. Thanks
isn't the RPO list on the underside of the drivers side storage well cover?
Hint: it should be on a 97...
Okay!!! I found it. Base suspension which is what I suspected. Oh well... I may order the Z06 swaybars from GM parts direct. That should be an improvement in roll stiffness. Thanks for the help ptdrummer54 and everyone else.

Yes the Service Parts Identificaton Label or RPO list/label as many here refer to it should show this. The Z51 Performance Handling Package consists of the FE3 Sport Suspension and a power steering cooler. The label on our '03 vert shows both RPO codes; i.e., Z51 & FE3. If you look on the passenger side of the engine compartment, between the right (passenger) side cooling fan and engine, you should see the long black rectangular cooling fins for the power steering cooler. Also the following link shows the sizes for the different C5 stabilizer bars. The diameter of the Z51/FE3 bars increased in model year 2000.

I am going to drive the car in the dry for some time before deciding what to do but the Z06 swaybars are tempting. I am going to stick with stock shocks for now. Thanks

Bret,
According to the Corvette Specialist's Data Book:
The quickest and easiest way to know if you have Z51 is to look for the power steering cooler under the hood. It is very obvious and will let you know without a doubt if you have Z51 or not.
