I had the same problem, the code is set when it senses rapid decelleration without the brake lights on.

I replaced the stoplamp switch on the brake pedal and the problem was fixed. It started out with my brake lights not working intermitently, then they would not work at all.

That would make sense because i had the car up to 70-75mph and then downshifted to help stop pretty quickly and then the fault light came on? I can't seem to reset the fault?? I haven't checked the switch and brakes lights to see if there is a problem but if the brakes lights are working ok then what??

I took a look yesterday and there are actually 2 switches on the brake pedal?? The upper switch has 6-8 wires and the lower one has 2 -3 wires, which one is it that you replaced?? Is the lower for cruise control and the upper for?? Thanks ina advance!!

One is for the brake lights, the other disengages the cruise control. The two switches are sold together as one piece, so you have to replace both (if I remember correctly).
