Default C5 Question

This may sound like a dumb question, but when looking at the 97-99 Vettes, and then the 00-04, the body styles look different. I know they are all C5's but something sets them apart. I can't tell if it's just the ugly wagon wheels on the older ones that make them look different, but body style wise, I think there is a difference. Is there actually any difference between them or is it just mechanical, such as intake, etc? Thanks!

Identical... cept for wheels and the passenger side key hole... 97-99 had a keyhole... 00 and above did not.. at least I think the 99 did, they may have axed it on the 99's, but that is the only thing...

Watch out now. There's a loyal band of wagon wheel lovers on this board. They actually look quite nice if they are chromed...

My 2 cents.

The actual body styles are identical except of course for the fixed-roof-coupe and the convertible.

Do some of the cars you are looking at have body side moldings? BSMs can give a different appearance.

I would guess he has looked at a FRC or Z06 maybe.

It's the wheels. Don't forget that the 2000's have special one year only fatty thin spoke wheels!

Sorry people, the wagon wheels aren't if they are chromed. I just don't like them if they aren't, sorry, my opinion. I have looked at the Z06 and FRC, I think it's just the type of wheel that made it look different. Thanks.

its one of those things you almost have to do a double take on... when I first got my 97, i was amazed that there was absolutely no difference between that and the 04's, inside or out... (besided keyhole like I said), if it aint broke, don't fix it... and they didn't

Wow, great observation. The 99's do have the passenger side keyhole - mine's a 99 (with 2000 chrome wheels)
