Got The Lock
I had a appoinment for this Thursday for the column lock recall on my A4. I went to lunch today and guess wht happened? It locked up and would not release even though I tried all tricks I read about on the forum. All I needed was two more days. Crap!!!
The good news is that they said they will pay for the tow and will not need to flash the computer. I was concerned wih a re-flash since have a dyno tune. They let me read the service bulletin an it stated that all M6 and A4 export vehicles need to have their computers flashed. On the US A4's all they do is remove the plate.
I think I m happy but....

Good luck with the fix. It should solve all your problems.

That's what I thought however, Ron H has 2001 in his profile.

Lock is fixed and all is well. They told me if I return their service survey they will give me a free oil and filter change. I asked and they said yes it includes the Mobil 1 oil.
