I would get some belt material cut the existing one and get a good seamstress to sew using the same type thread some extra belt material on to extend it. That's the best solution

That won't happen overnight so safety needed before that happens

What I mean is heavy folks reduce the performance level of a muscle/ sport's car.

And actually it is a choice whether you are heavy or skinny. You can say what you will but ultimately it is a choice.

Hoogbest-

You're a lightweight compared to my little bro who is 6"5" and about 400big. he is sweet, but be respectful.

If my brother ever comes out to visit, I'm going to the dealer to get a FREE seatbelt extender. They have to give 'em away to accomadate kid's car seats and pregnant women.

Z06 Covvette Forum members love the getting pregnant part from what I've seen so far....... Getting the seatbelt extender is pretty 'matter a fact'.

I'm sorry Shylor, but it's not some people's choice that they are fat/skinny. I know many people that have the will/determination yet they are unable to lose weight no mater what excercise/diet they do. It's in the genes.

With that said, you can get a seatbelt extention like said above.

This is an exceptionally ignorant and misinformed statement and insensitive at best. Perhaps you mean no disrespect Shylor, but many people who have weight issues have no choice about it either way. Take me for instance. Several years ago I sustained a very serious back injury followed by two surgeries, the last one being a spinal fusion. I have lived in constant excrutiating pain for over six years due to irreperable nerve damage and have had to be on heavy pain meds that entire time just to have some kind of life. One of the side affects of the meds I take is that they cause my weight to increase dramatically no matter how much or little I eat. The funny thing is that I eat very little because the same meds also kill my appetite. If you saw me you would think I was an over eater and overweight by choice, but nothing could be further from the truth. I have done every thing I possibly can to lose weight with no results.

Thankfully, I have a beautiful wife who loves me unconditionally and two kids who do the same. Thankfully, they don't think like you do...no offense man, but think before you speak...or type in this case. While many people with weight issues can do something about it there are many who can't.

Sorry for the rant, but I had to say something...

I believe Shylor would take his first post back, or he could just delete it if he wanted to. I've read some of his other posts and he seems to be knowledgable about Corvettes and intellegent enough to know he inserted the foot lol! It was only made worst by trying to clarify his initial post. He seems like a nice enough guy, that maybe he will come back in and remedy the situation. (or make is even worst lol!)
I've said things before without thinking that seemed insensitive, just ask my wife.

Default Fat

My biggest problem is two fold.....heredity and meds I had to start taking after my triple by-pass. The meds are the real culprits. They put weight on me because they slow down my metabolism. I went from 220 to 280 in less than a year and now 309. At 280 I could still use the seat belt....at 309 no way and I'm a seat belt fanatic. Thanks for good advice guys....I'll try the dealer first. > This is me trying to get the seat belt around by rather large belly! <
