Default Sometimes its not great being married

The wife and I get into knock down drag outs about the vette or should I say mods all the time. My question is and its probably a stupid one but, if I want to spend 10-15k on my vette are there any shops that have in house credit or do I have to have the cash in hand. I honestly don't know the answer to this and the wife said I could do it if it didn't affect the balance of the bank account. OH and I know what some of you are going to say leave the wife

Not sure who offers that kind of "credit" anymore.
Maybe you could get your girlfriend to do it on her credit card instead!

Thats the only way to do it!!!!

If you cant make the 10-15k vanish without the wife noticing...then those mods will not be getting done!!

I bought the Corvette as a surprise present for my wife. Because it is HER car, I can mod it all I want.

This mod thing is as bad as drugs. It seems to pull you in.It starts out small.50 bucks here and 100 bucks there. Then it gets bigger and you start selling stuff to offset the cost so the wife wont find out. Then you get on the laughing gas and finally when its all over, the vette is gone and you have a resentful wife. Not that ive ever done drugs, but ive been a modaholic for quite some time.Good luck!

Usually I'll slam any female that has a hangup with their S.O.'s car... but I would never borrow money to do a mod. Sometimes it takes 6 months to work some extra hours, sell off a few previously purchased toys, and save...save... save; but I always end up paying cash for mods.

And; sometimes I have to do the labor myself - in order to afford a mod (like when I did my own 3.42 upgrade - couldn't afford to pay someone else to do this).

I must say I am kinda on your wifes side with this.

Does your annual income support such a hobby without shorting your lifestyle? Why do you ask about speed shop financing?

What do you mean by 'affect the balance of the bank account'? If you take the cash right out of your bank account in a lump sum it will affect it; depending on the balance you keep.

If you borrow the money from the speed shop or your credit card, you will have to pay it back and pay interest as well.

Have you thought of going to credit counseling?

If you have to borrow large sums on a regular basis to pay for a hobby, you may need to rethink how important that hobby is in your married life.
He is joking around.

I only spent two hundred on a Blackwing within the first month after buying the car, and the wife was very, very, very mad. Anything I do now needs to be unnoticeable until the GO peddle is stomped.

Realistically, my view is that mods do not contribute to the car's value anywhere near as much as they cost you. It's like throwing money away. Are they fun - yes, they can be. But there's a lot of things that I can throw money at and have fun at a lower cost. And if you're going to throw money away, why finance it? Save and pay.
