I just purchased a 2000 vert 2 weeks ago. I don't klnow if I have the popular zo6 or just a c-5. I do know the car has z06 wheels. It has a slp mass air flow sensor, A donaldson ( blackwing) air filter. It also has a performance exhaust system. I don't know the make. The car was a lease before I bought it. The dealership I bought it from could'nt tell either. I was at a hyundai used lot.

Where are you at? I saw a car fitting that picture here in Honolulu. It is not a ZO6, I can assure you of that, they didnt come out until 2001 and they didn't come in a vert.
FYI, Z06 is a hardtop designed body which resembles the vert(top up) in silhoette. It has the body style of the FRC(fixed roof coupe). The Z06 has a bunch of lightweight goodies, and a LS6 engine, ranging from 400-405 hp. There is a bunch of info on these guys. Pricing is VERY similar to OUR verts...2001+ especially. Hopefully, someone will post a pic of a gorgeous Z06, or FRC.
I say you made the right choice . I had the choice....you see me, topless.
All corvettes produced during model years 1997 through 2004 were C5s, whether they be coupes, convertibles, hardtops or Z06s. The Z06 made it's debut in model year 2001 and could only be had as a hardtop:

The Z06 came out in 2001, it has the same body as the FRC, 1999-2000, the picture of white vette above. They body is commonly known as the hardtop, vs coupe and convertable. All vettes from 97-04 are C5's

Welcome to the wonderful world of Corvette Forum, GMlover! Get your skin prepared, because there's sure to be a few folks here who are genuinely nice and understand the innocence of newcomers to the world of Corvette(C5)... but there are many more who will definitely flog you for your ig'nance.
It's all in good natured fun. Look for a thread about Coupe vs FRC vs Vert. It's sure to be a little better explained in there!

Here's a web page that will tell you more about your '00 convertible. It is not a Z06 regardless of wheels. There's a lot more to the Z06 than the wheels, aside from the fact that the Z06 came out in '01. Before that it was the FRC (Fixed Roof Coupe, a.k.a Factory Race Car).
