Please excuse my ignorance; how do you drain the oil and change the filter with the car so low to the ground(other than using an oil change pit?) I got a case of Mobil 1 but am afraid to try and jack the car up!
Does the oil plug face to the front of the car? Thanks.
The oil plug faces the front, and the filter bottom is parallel with the ground. If you don't put the front on ramps and jack up the rear until its level, you will never be able to change the oil.
Hi, and that's not a dumb question! When I asked it, I got a link to "Kwik-lift" ramps from a forum member. THAT was the 1st "mod" I bought after my Blackwing. I've used it for all sorts of things, as you can imagine. The ramps are really great quality, and customer service is terrific. I rented a small u-haul truck to pick them up from UPS, but a borrowed pick-up would also do fine. I just want to share in my good experience with them cause I am asked about them alot.
In a pinch though, I would have taken my car to one of those places like penzoil, etc, that have a pit, and just brought my own oil with me. In fact, that's almost what I did for my 1st oil change. See my sig for a look at the ramps.
BTW; If I knew how to insert a link in my posts, I would. But, if you just do a search for Kwik-lift you will find it easy.

I use a low profile floor jack and a set of Rhino Ramps to do mine. Once in the air, it is easy to do the change. Be sure to use a set of jack stands also for safety reasons.

Same here
I'd rather take 15-20 minutes to do it myself and make sure it's done right then let some mindless drone at some zippidy-do-da oil change place get under my car.
