Hey everyone, yesterday for the first time i notcied my brakes were squeaking when i would stop very slowly...from a slight roll just holding the breaks down a little bit...if i stopped hard or normally there was no noise what could the problem be
Yeah, i hate it when my breakes squeek or make any noise for that matter. Usually they only do it when your going real slow. Doesn't happen when you slam on the breaks or break fast "unless the breaks are really bad and worn out". Sometime this problem will go away for a while and come back. Mine tends to do so. I would just give it some time, and if it doesn't go away and you want to do something about it check on getting some new breaks and possibly some new rotors...Good luck
i had this when switching to ceramic pads; stopped it by applying Anti-Squeal to back of pads; came in an aerosol can, kinda tacky-like adhesive. I figured it was the pad-to-rotor friction that was squeaking but it turns out it had something to do with high-frequency vibration of pad w/ caliper/rotor. Who'd a figured?
"If your brake pads and braking system are in good condition and you experience squeal just as you are almost stopped, this is usually the brake pad vibrating against the rotor/caliper, causing the rotor to ring like a bell. "
