Default Pics: Starting a Fire!

I had the opportunity to watch the numerous steps involved in airbrushing the flames on my car and was totally amazed by the process!
Here’s a series of pics in the order of the different colors that were applied to get the final results. There were a total of 10 different colors used.
Thought you all would like to see how it was done.

Wow Jim,

Thanks for posting that series. That is a pretty amazing process and what appears to be a talented artist. I can't wait to see the finished product. Of course, feel free to keep posting the in-progress shots.

After the flames are completed, it will be clear coated and sanded a few different times then buffed out before leaving the shop.
I'm sure the clear coat will have to cure for a few weeks before any waxing is done on the new finish.
I'll be talking to Jeff about all that before it leaves his shop.

I love the "realistic" 3D look of the new airbrush flames you can get on custom cars nowadays. Those 2D flames never cut it for me. Wait until you get the clear coat back on and slap on some Zaino! You'll be staring at your car for hours! When you clear coat it, the colors will just pop out and be that much more intense.

FINAL PIX are definatley in order! I'd love to see these flames on a Vette. I've only seen it done on a '32 Ford Roadster. The first time I saw 3D flames like this, my jaw dropped, and I finally thought, someone has it right! THIS is what flames are supposed to look like on a car.
