Yes, it is in the radiator, if your coolant is full, then the sendor is bad. Just unplug it, it will stop the light.

I was getting the "low Coolant level" DIC warning. The dealer had to replace the coolant surge tank, so I'm assuming the sensor is located in the surge tank, as that corrected the problem.

Coolant low sensor
The sensor is located on the bottom of the coolant tank. There is a plug that you can see that connects to the sensor. Sometimes it gets corroded or broken. The sensor is an integral part of the tank.
