Going to do my smoothie tanks and fender covers this weekend. Should I keep them plain Metalic Blue like the rest of the engine or
go with the 3 tone on tone tribal flames or Metalic blue with metalic silver flames?

I say all metallic blue. As much as I like flames, I would think they would look out of place unless all pieces had flames. JMHO.
I clicked the link for the photo of your engine - looks sweet, but the red LS1 lettering on the throttle body plate looks out of place to me. It needs to be silver or metallic blue. Also, what about painting the oil dip stick top blue as well, instead of the factory yellow?

KC VETTE, LOVE YOUR ENGINE COMPARTMENT!!!!!!! WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR ENGINE MODS.
Thanks, chrome came from Creative Engine Covers and painted items came from KEWL, both great people to work with...recently replaced the upper radiator support with a chrome one from KEWL.
