Default help on shift boot replacement

I just got a yellow and black shift boot for my c5 from West Coast Corvettes and the installation instructions are a bit vague.
I have an automatic transmission by the way.

I know how to remove the console and get the trim plate off but the instructions say to also remove the "floor shift control" in order to remove the boot without damaging the boot retaining tabs.

Exactly how do I remove this floor shift control???

Also, any tips on installing the shift boot or is there a link I can go to?

Thanks guys

If you want to call me I'll be glad to tell you the easiest way to glue in the bezel. The bezel can be a B*@ch to glue in and look good when done.

Well, I wouldn't say necessarily that Ken is the best here on the Forum...but he's definitely in the top three.

Way to go Ken!
