Default Traction control

Not sure I fully understand this option. I know what it does, it prevents wheel spin, but I hear it also limits the power? Could you please tell me the pros and cons of this option.

First of all - it's not an option, it's standard equipment on all Vettes going back to the C4 (1989, I think).

I believe it selectively applies braking to the faster spinning wheel.

You're not confusing it with Active Handling, are you? It was an option on 1998 Vettes and eventually became standard equipment too.

Here's and interesting article on how it works.....

Torque control is a part of the package. It manifests itself to a greater extent in the later C5 with the A4. I have an A4. The torque output of the engine is limited, compared to the M6 version.

It's actually controversial in the C6 because a growing issue is that the torque control may be too controlling, keeping the C6 from attaining the 1/4 mile times that the specifications would seem to indicate it could run.
