Default **HID Question**

I recently purchase an HID unit from one of our vendors.
So far I`m very satisfied with the product. But I have one question.
When you first turn on the headlights they light won`t fire up.
It seems that I have to turn off the switch completely, then, back on
she`ll fire up
Has anyone else experience this situation with any after market HID`s or is this one of those little things I have to get adjusted to?

Both the bulbs or one?

Check your connectors ... especially the ones from the wireharness to the bulb itself. If there was moisture in them, they get rusty and start to short. I have hard wired mine now and eliminated the plastic connector all together. Just remember, if you do this and have to change the bulb, you have a little more work to do. Since I did it, I've had no issues.

Are you runnning a stock battery?

Also consider this, when you fire your light up, you're sending a 25K volt charge to the bulb. If your battery has a dip in voltage, that also could cause your bulb to not fire up. Sure, once your lights are on, they run at 35W vs. 55W, but the initial voltage discharge from the ballist is big.

Check out www.hidplanet.com for more info.

Hope this helps.
